2012 recap: Montoya had a similarly disappointing season to his Earnhardt Ganassi Racing teammate Jamie McMurray. Montoya ended the year 22nd in the standings, one spot worse than McMurray. Montoya failed to post a top-5 finish for the first time in his career. His two top-10s were the fewest of his career. Sadly, the most memorable moment of Montoya's 2013 season came when he slammed into a jet dryer, which caused a towering fireball during a caution in the Daytona 500.
