NASCAR confiscates 3 windshields
TALLADEGA, Ala. -- NASCAR has confiscated the front windshields from Michael Waltrip Racing's two cars and a third car affiliated with the race team.
The windshields were taken from the cars of MWR drivers David Reutimann and Martin Truex Jr., as well as Bobby Labonte from JTG Daugherty Racing. The windshields were taken Friday at Talladega Superspeedway because they had unapproved modifications.
Reutimann had the fastest lap of Friday's second practice session at 197.159 mph. The windshields had already been replaced before practice.
NASCAR will announce additional penalties against the teams next week.
