Kasey Kahne underwent outpatient knee surgery Friday morning and is expected to be ready for all of Daytona Speedweeks, including the Budweiser Shootout on Feb. 18 and the Daytona 500 on Feb. 26.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in Charlotte after an MRI revealed a torn meniscus.
Hendrick Motorsports has no plans to have a backup driver for Kahne at Daytona.
Kahne had knee cartilage surgery in April 2011 on a Monday, and raced five days later at Richmond, finishing third. He also had surgery on both knees
in December 2010 to repair buildup of tissue in his knees.
