Martin Truex Jr. won the pole for Saturday's Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday with a qualifying lap of 190.369 mph.

It's Truex's seventh career pole and second at Texas, where he finished third five years ago.

Qualifying right behind Truex were the Roush Fenway Racing Fords driven by Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle.

Kenseth was .004 seconds faster than Biffle, who currently sits atop the point standings by six points over Dale Earnhardt Jr., who qualified 16th.

Mark Martin, Truex's teammate at Michael Waltrip Racing, qualified fourth, followed by Kasey Kahne.

Truex, who is tied for third in the point standings with Kenseth, Kevin Harvick and defending series champion Tony Stewart, is looking to win his first race since June 2007 at Dover -- his lone Sprint Cup victory.

"That's our main goal," Truex said on NASCAR.com. "This team's good enough. We can get to Victory Lane. We're going to do it soon. I feel good about this team. I'm just having so much fun coming to the race track and driving these cars.

"We're going to make them proud here pretty quick."
