LOUDON, N.H. -- Sponsor Budweiser will move with Kevin Harvick from Richard Childress Racing to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014.
In the first official acknowledgement of the move that was reported late last season, Harvick will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet at SHR.
Budweiser will be the primary sponsor for 20 Sprint Cup races, as well as the non-points Budweiser Duel to kick off the season. The beer company will serve as an associate sponsor for the remaining 16 races.
"I've developed a great relationship with so many people at Budweiser and am very happy it's an association that will continue for many years to come," Harvick said in a statement. "We've enjoyed a lot of success together and our expectations match right up with those of Stewart-Haas Racing."
Harvick is fourth in points with two victories this season heading into Sunday's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
"We're very proud to have such an iconic brand in Budweiser and an incredibly accomplished racer in Kevin Harvick join Stewart-Haas Racing," said Tony Stewart, the co-owner of SHR and a three-time Cup champion. "Budweiser is the leader in its industry, and Kevin has proven himself year-after-year in our sport. It's a partnership we welcome as it will make our entire organization stronger."
The loss of Harvick leaves RCR looking for a replacement for the No. 29. Team owner Richard Childress recently said Ryan Newman, who drives for SHR, is a candidate.
Harvick has been in an RCR Cup car since replacing the late Dale Earnhardt after the seven-time champion's fatal crash in the 2001 Daytona 500.
"I can't thank Richard Childress and everyone at RCR enough for everything they've done for my career," Harvick said. "I was just trying to make a name for myself in the Truck series, and Richard believed in me enough to make me a part of his race team.
"Without him, and without the hard work of so many people at RCR, I wouldn't be where I am today."
