Kwasniewski into Nationwide Series
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dylan Kwasniewski will run a full Nationwide Series schedule for Turner Motorsports this season.
The Monday announcement comes just days after Turner Motorsports announced it could not field a Truck Series team this year for Jeb Burton because the sponsor had defaulted on its payment.
The team can run Kwasniewski because Rockstar Energy Drink has signed on to sponsor the No. 31 Chevrolet for the 18-year-old driver.
Kwasniewski is scheduled to make his Nationwide debut in the season-opening Feb. 22 race at Daytona. Kwasniewski won the 2013 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship.
Kwasniewski made his Turner Motorsports debut last season and became the first driver ever to capture both the K&N East and West championships. In 14 starts, he earned six wins, eight top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes. He also won three poles and led 394 laps.
Kwasniewski is part of the NASCAR Next program, which spotlights the sport's up-and-coming stars.
"Dylan is a great kid and has unbelievable talent," team co-owner Harry Scott said. "The sky is the limit for Dylan and this Rockstar team."
