If the Danica Patrick-Richard Petty head-to-head match race ever comes off, we know exactly who GoDaddy chairman Bob Parsons will be rooting for.
"These guys never cut Danica any slack," said Parsons, whose company sponsors Patrick's No. 10 car. "None of 'em. They somehow feel if she wins, they'll be disenfranchised. And yet she keeps battling week after week. She's one tough woman. I'll tell you something: Richard Petty is a man and Danica is a woman, but Danica has bigger balls than Richard Petty ever did."
Petty challenged Patrick to a race last week during an interview with Fox News.
"I'm 76 years old, OK?" he said. "It's been 25 years since I've been in a race car. But I'll take that challenge."
Parsons says he'd like to see Patrick race Petty but will leave the decision to her.
"Danica would win," he said. "For once, she'd be on a level playing field. Just her against Petty. She's a better driver."
Parsons believes male drivers go out of their way to keep Patrick from winning a race.
"Remember last Daytona [in 2013], when Danica was battling down the stretch, trying to win it?" he said. "I heard another driver say, 'If she was getting in front of me, I was going to steamroll her.' Now, have you ever heard anybody say anything like that about a male driver? No."
Parsons said he wouldn't be the right person to promote such a race -- "That's for someone who knows that business," he said -- but he could certainly cover any purse. He's worth $1.9 billion, according to Forbes.
