Romanowski gets Swan Racing stake
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski has joined Swan Racing as a minority owner.
Romanowski will join founder Brandon Davis, who will debut the first-year Cup team at the Feb. 24 Daytona 500 with two-time 500 champion Michael Waltrip behind the wheel.
David Stremme will take over the No. 30 Toyota the following week at Phoenix.
Romanowski played in 16 NFL seasons for San Francisco, Philadelphia, Denver and Oakland. He played in five Super Bowls and was selected to two Pro Bowls.
His company Nutrition53, which markets a line of supplemental health drinks and vitamins, will be the primary sponsor on the car for 10 races and an associate sponsor for the other 26 races.
"I am thrilled to jump into the NASCAR world as a part owner and as a sponsor," Romanowski said in a team statement. "Brandon has a vision for how to build a championship contender and I'm eager to be part of it."
