Ron Capps leads qualifying
CONCORD, N.C. -- Ron Capps topped Funny Car qualifying Friday in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals with a run of 4.105 seconds at 301.81 mph in his Dodge Charger.
The unique event features racing in four lanes instead of the traditional two. A center wall separates the second and third lanes.
Steve Torrence led the Top Fuel competition at 3.799 at 322.34, and Charlotte resident Jason Line set the national speed record for Pro Stock at 213.91 and 6.493.
