Top recruits spring into action

The spring signing period is off and running, as touted center David Harrison of Brentwood-Brentwood Academy, Tenn., has chosen Colorado over North Carolina and Vanderbilt.

Prospects may sign with colleges between April 11 to May 15.

Harrison, who averaged 28.5 points, 13.1 rebounds and 5.6 blocks as a senior, was named a first-team Parade All-American and played in the McDonald's All-American Game. He also considered Duke and was drawing late interest from Louisville.

Harrison's brother, D.J., will be a senior next fall at Colorado and led the team with a 15.2 average last season.

Also signing with the Buffs was guard James Wright of Los Angeles-Manual Arts, Calif./Compton CC, Cal., who averaged 17 points and seven assists last season. He chose Colorado over Iowa State, Minnesota and USC. Forward Jason Carter of Las Vegas-Bishop Gorman, Nev., had earlier picked the Buffs.
