The football recruiting wars have settled down, as LSU, Florida and Southern California led the Final 2003 Top Classes.

Other outstanding classes included Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Miami-Florida, Michigan, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina State, Texas A&M, Tennessee and South Carolina.

The LSU Tigers finished with 13 Top 150 prospects and another eight Super Prospects among their 28 signees. Notables include RB Alley Broussard, DB Nick Child, RB Barrington Edwards, WR Amp Hill, DB Daryl Johnson, DB LaRon Landry, DL Sean Merrill, DL Kirston Pittman, QB JaMarcus Russell, OL Jerry Sevin, DL Carnell Stewart and DL Tim Washington, LSU also added top junior college LB Kenny Hollis.

Florida signed 15 Top 150 players and had two Super Prospects. QB Chris Leak is the star of a great class. Among other outstanding preps are WR Andre Caldwell, RB Joe Cohen, LB Earl Everett, WR Chad Jackson, QB Justin Midgett, DL Jarvis Moss, DB Reggie Nelson, DL Marcus Thomas and DB Dee Webb. The Gators also brought in five top junior college prospects.

The USC Trojans dominated the Pac-10, signing 12 of the top 15 prospects on the West Coast. The Trojans collected three of the nation's best running backs in Reggie Bush, Chauncey Washington and Lendale White. Other top prospects included WR Whitney Lewis, WR Steve Smith, TE Chris Barrett, LB Lawrence Jackson, DL Sedrick Ellis, DL Lawrence Jackson, LB Thomas Williams and OL Drew Radovich. USC add two outstanding junior college prospects and resigned DB Darnell Bing, one of the nation's top players in Class 2002.

The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers was Dec. 18-Jan 15. The spring period is Feb. 5-Apr. 1. Search the list of Prospects/Commitments/Signings/By Conference.

Class 2004 News:

Michigan has a commitment from defensive back Morgan Trent of Orchard Lake-St. Mary's, Mich.

Athlete Titus Ryan of Tuscaloosa-East Central, Ala., pledged to Alabama.

The Georgia Bulldogs pledged quarterback Alonzo Bryant of Forth Valley-Peach County, Ga., who passed for 1605 yards as a junior.

Defensive lineman LeMarte McGhee of Roxboro-Person, NC., picked North Carolina State.

Pittsburgh has its second junior commitment in linebacker/defensive lineman Corey Davis of Pittsburgh-Peabody, Pa.

Offensive lineman Garrett Collins of Littleton-Columbine, Colo., pledged to Colorado.

Stanford has a commitment from offensive lineman Alex Fletcher of Long Island-St. Anthony's, NY.
