Louisiana QB prospect commits to USC

By Bill Hodge
CollegeSports.com

Perhaps the nation's top quarterback prospect, John David Booty of Shreveport-Evangel, La., has committed to the USC Trojans.

Booty, the younger brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh Booty, selected the Trojans over Texas, Michigan and Louisiana State, among many others. He passed for 4144 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior.

"I just feel like it's the right place to be for me," Booty told the Los Angeles Daily News. "I feel like I want to be here and spend my college career here, and I really look forward to coming to USC."

The Oregon Ducks signed receiver James Finley of Los Angeles-Manuel Arts, Cal. He orginally signed with Oregon State in Class 2002.

The Iowa Hawkeyes added defensive back Khalik Price of Atco-Winslow Township, NJ., as a late signee. Among others showing interest were Kansas State, Kentucky and Ohio.
