Penn State to receive O-Line boost
By Bill Hodge
The Texas Longhorns have added punter/kicker Greg Johnson of Lilburn-Parkview, Ga., who will transfer from Vanderbilt and redshirt 2003. Johnson, who averaged 43.8 yards on punts as a freshman, also considered Ohio State, Texas A&M and Kansas State.
Arizona State has won an appeal to the NCAA concerning the validity of a letter-of-intent from touted defensive back Chijioke Onyenegecha of CC of San Francisco. Onyenegecha's letter was questioned when it was learned that his junior college coach had signed as his guardian, a title he does not have legally, on advice ASU received from the Pac-10. A national letter requires a living parent's signature. Onyenegecha's mother is deceased and his father's whereabouts were unknown in Nigeria. Onyenegecha had hoped to switch to Oklahoma and a counter appeal may be filed. If the letter is upheld again he could still enroll at Oklahoma and sit out a season.
