Top defensive lineman selects UCLA

Top 150 defensive lineman Brigham Harwell of Hacienda Heights-Los Altos, Cal., has committed to the UCLA Bruins over Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas State and Oklahoma, among others.

Big Ten Verbal List
Illinois has commitments from Class 2004 defensive backs Tyjuan Jones and Zach Logan, both from Trotwood/Trotwood-Madison, Ohio.

Touted linebacker Paul Szczesny of Niles-Notre Dame, Ill/Pima CC, Ariz., has decommitted from Indiana. He is now considering USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Michigan and Boston College, among others.

Ohio State has a Class 2005 commitment from offensive lineman Alex Boone (6-8 290) of Lakewood-St. Edward, Ohio.

Big 12 Verbal List
Iowa State has a commitment from Class 2004 defensive back/linebacker Will Lewis of Baytown-Lee, Tex., over offers from Colorado and Texas Tech.

Big East Verbal List
UConn has a commitment from Class 2004 offensive lineman Trey Tonsing of Waldorf-Westlake, Md.

ACC Verbal List
Class 2004 linebacker/quarterback Erin Henderson of Aberdeen, Md., has committed to Maryland over Virginia. Purdue and North Carolina were also involved.

SEC Verbal List
Class 2004 defensive back Jonathan Joseph of Rock Hill-Northwestern, SC/Coffeyville CC, Kan., committed to South Carolina over offers from Arkansas and Florida. Among others showing interest were Iowa State, Kansas State and Nebraska.

Conf-USA Verbal List
Tight end/defensive end Craig Boatwright, a Class 2004 prospect from Everman, Tex., committed to TCU.

WAC Verbal List
Tight end Brian Ouilhon, a Class 2004 prospect from Rocklin, Cal., committed to Fresno State.

Pac-10 Verbal List
Oregon State has signed Class 2003 defensive back/running back Eric Anderson of Phoenix-Camelback, Ariz., for this fall. The Beavers gained a Class 2004 commitment from receiver Zach Tarver of Portland-Jesuit, Ore.

Class 2004 linebacker Bryan Baird of Vancouver-Columbia River, Wash., committed to Washington State.

Mountain West Verbal List
Quarterback Jacob Bower, a Class 2004 prospect from Meridian, Idaho, committed to BYU over Oregon State and Washington State. Among others showing interest were Boise State, Utah, California, Arizona State and Texas Tech. He will first go on mission.
