Quarterback Chris Olsen of Wayne-Wayne Hills, NJ., who was expected to play a backup role at Notre Dame this fall, has transfered to Virginia. Following in his older brother's footsteps, Greg Olsen, a highly-touted freshman tight end for the Irish, decided to transfer to Miami-Florida.

Considered a Top 150 prospect in Class 2002, Chris Olsen redshirted as a freshman last season for the Irish. The quarterback will redshirt this season at Virginia and have three years remaining. He also considered transfering to Boston College, Iowa, North Carolina State, Rutgers and Maryland. Greg Olsen, a Top 150 prospect in Class 2003 with over 80 offers, will redshirt for the Canes and have four seasons remaining.

Quarterback Marc Guillon of Moraga-Orinda Miramonte, Cal., who recently left Miami-Florida, is headed to Alabama. Guillon played in two games for the Canes last season as a true freshman and was listed on the third team during spring drills. He was considered a Top 150 prospect in Class 2002.

Kansas State pledged Class 2004 defensive back Tyvenskie Page of Dallas-Adamson, Tex., over offers from Tulsa, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Maryland.

West Virginia has pledged Class 2004 offensive lineman Jake Figner of New Tripoli-Northwestern Lehigh, Pa.

Offensive lineman Dave Weber of King of Prussia-Upper Merion, Pa., has committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers over offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Georgia Tech and Northwestern. The Panthers recently gained Top 150 quarterback Anthony Morelli of Pittsburgh-Penn Hills, Pa., over Notre Dame. Among over 40 other offers were Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA and Florida State.

North Carolina has pledged Class 2004 defensive lineman/linebacker Hilee Taylor of Laurinburg-Scotland County, NC., over Clemson, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and East Carolina, among others.

Georgia Tech pledged Class 2004 kicker Gary Cismesia of Bradenton-Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Mississippi has signed Class 2003 defensive back Nate Banks of Liberty-Amite County, Miss., for this fall. He orginally signed with the Rebels in Class 2002, but delayed entrance.

Wyoming pledged Class 2004 defensive lineman Rob Hollway of Richfield-Holy Angels, Minn.
