Swann selects Florida State over Connecticut

Top 100 guard Isaiah Swann of Rockville-Magruder, Md/Oak Hill Academy, Va/Hargrave MA, Va., has pledged to Florida State over UConn. Among others were Arizona, Cincinnati and Maryland.

Chamberlain Oguchi, a Top 100 guard from Richmond-George Bush, Tex., committed to the Oregon Ducks over Kansas State, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Georgia Tech.

Rutgers has a pledge from forward Ollie Bailey of Chicago-Farragut, Ill., over interest in Fresno State, Seton Hall and Penn State.

Iowa State has a pledge from guard Tasheed Carr of Philadelphia-University City, Pa/Durham-Mt Zion Academy, NC., over St. Joseph's, Temple, Virginia Tech and Arkansas, among others.

Texas Tech has its third pledge in forward Damir Suljagic of Tucson-Salpointe Catholic, Ariz., over Wyoming and Loyola-Marymount.

Forward Hector Hernandez of Mexico/Denver-Lincoln, Colo., has pledged to Fresno State over interest in Alabama, Creighton and Iowa State.

Dayton has a pledge from forward Chris Alvarez of Miami-Fla/Blairstown-Blear Academy, NJ.

Huge center Jeff Salovski of Bristol-Bristol Central, Conn, committed to UMass over Central Connecticut State. Forward Olivier Lamoureux of Montreal-Champlain St. Lambert, recently committed to UMass over interest from St. Bonaventure, Wyoming and Loyola-Marymount.

Duquesne pledged forward Chauncey Duke of Springfield, Mo., over interest from Florida State, Georgetown and Arkansas.

SMU gained forward Paulius Ritter of Lithuania/Tulsa-Holland Hall, Okla.

Long Beach State pledged guard Gazmine Henderson of Dallas, Tex/Eastfield CC, Tex.

Austin Peay has a pledge from center Kareem Matthews of St. Louis-Sumner, Mo/Ranger CC, Tex/St. Louis CC-Florissant Valley, Mo.

Forward Chad Ferguson of North Las Vegas-Cheyenne, Nev/Laurinburg Institute, NC., has chosen Coastal Carolina.

Southeast Missouri State has a pledge from guard Paul Paradoski of St. Louis-Vianney, Mo.

*Top 100 guard Marquie Cooke of Suffolk-Nansemond River, Va., between Virginia Tech, Clemson.
*Top 100 forward Maarty Leunen of Redmond, Ore., between UCLA, Ore, OreSt, Gonzaga.
*Center Goran Suton of Lansing-Everett, Mich., between MichSt, ArizSt, LSU, Dayton.
*Top 100 forward Davis Nwankwo of College Park-Georgetown Prep, Md., between Ariz, Va and Stan.
*Top 100 guard Jason Rich of Orlando-Dr. Phillips, Fla., between Kty, FSU.
*Top 100 guard Ramel Bradley of Brooklyn-Park West, NY/Bradenton-IMG Academy, Fla., between Kty, BC, Clem, Pitt, Ga.
*Top 100 guard Shawn Livingston of Peoria-Central, Ill., between Duke, Ariz and Ill.

Seventy-one prospects on the early Class 2004 Top 100 have already made commitments.
