DL Mahelona switches from Sooners to Vols

By Bill Hodge

Considered the nation's top junior college defensive lineman, Jesse Mahelona of Hawaii/Orange Coast CC, Cal., has decommitted from Oklahoma for the Tennessee Vols.

Mahelona, who has two seasons remaining and is appealing for a third, is set to finish at Orange Coast next month and join the Vols for bowl practice. He had committed to Arizona State before switching to the Sooners.

Earlier this month, the Vols received a commitment from Albert Toeaina of City College of San Francisco, rated the top junior college offensive line prospect in the country.
