Maryland has a commitment from offensive lineman Carlos Feliciano of Elizabeth, NJ., over Iowa, Ohio State, Virginia, Rutgers and Michigan State. North Carolina signed defensive lineman Khalif Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Va/Hargrave MA, Va; defensive lineman Terry Hunter of Wendell, NC/Hargrave MA, Va; defensive back Gerald Sensabaugh of Kingsport, Tenn/East Tennessee State; and tight end Scott Brumett of Pioneer, Tenn/East Tennessee State.
Pittsburgh pledged receiver Kelvin Chandler of Fort Lauderdale-Dillard, Fla.
Defensive/offensive lineman Walter Thomas of Galvston-Ball, Tex., is considering decommitting from Oklahoma State for Texas A&M. The Aggies recently gained Top 150 defensive back, D.J. Davis of Fort Worth-Dunbar, Tex., over Missouri. Among others were Notre Dame and Penn State.
Arizona regained defensive lineman Brad Brittain of Encinitas-Torrey Pines, Cal/Arizona/Mesa CC, Ariz., who had been dismissed by the Wildcats before last season due to violation of team rules; and pledged defensive back Dominic Patrick of Houston-Klein Forest, Tex.
SMU has pledged receiver/defensive back David Haynes of McGregor, Tex. The Mustangs recently signed quarterbacks Jerad Romo of Tehachapi, Cal/ Antelope Valley CC, Cal; and Tony Eckert of Lumberton, Tex/Tyler CC, Tex; plus receiver Bobby Chase of Irving, Tex/Blinn CC, Tex. *USC, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Miami-Florida, Penn State, Georgia and Maryland lead the Early 2004 Top Classes.
