Hockey players have a statistical number that reveals how a team does in scoring when that player is on the ice. For example, +7 for a player means his team scored seven more goals (excluding power plays) than the opponent when he's in the game.

Here's a little plus-minus stat for Nextel Cup drivers in 2007 compared to where they stood after 10 races in 2006.
