Lewis Hamilton managed to accomplish something in two seasons with McLaren Mercedes that David Coulthard failed to do in nine years with the team -- he won the Formula One world championship.

For Coulthard -- or "DC," as he is often called -- it was a case of the stars never aligning at the right time.
