Mark Martin turned the fastest lap of the day at 180.643 mph, edging Juan Pablo Montoya at the end of practice.
Kasey Kahne was third and Kevin Harvick a surprising fourth on the speed chart at the end of the second practice.

ALLSTATE 400 AT THE BRICKYARD
Sunday marks the 16th running of the Allstate 400 at The Brickyard. It's the first stock car race of Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Centennial Era Celebration as the first races were run at the venerable track in 1909.
