Kaltenborn appointed Sauber team leader in F1

YEONGAM, South Korea -- Sauber Motorsport says Monisha Kaltenborn will replace Peter Sauber at the helm of the Swiss-based team to become Formula One's first female team leader.

The team says at the Korean Grand Prix that the 41-year-old Kaltenborn, who was previously chief executive, will take over Sauber's day-to-day duties running the team.

Sauber, who will be 69 on Saturday, had previously said he intends to step back before turning 70.
