MORRISON, Colo. -- Cory McClenathan was the fastest Top Fuel
driver in first-round qualifying Friday night at the NHRA's Mile
High Nationals.
Tim Wilkerson, Greg Anderson and GT Tonglet led their divisions
at Bandimere Speedway.
McClenathan covered a quarter-mile in 4.818 seconds, going
308.50 mph. He'll try Saturday in the second round for his first
No. 1 starting position of the season.
Wilkerson was the fastest in Funny Car with a run of 5.007 at
297.16.
Anderson topped the chart in Pro Stock, clocking in at 7.216 and
191.38.
Tonglet had an elapsed time of 7.534 in Pro Stock Bike, going
175.96.
Final eliminations are Sunday.
