Stan Brooks (Executive Producer)
Brooks started his own
motion picture company, Once Upon a Time Films, in 1989. Once
Upon A Time has produced 29 movies since opening its doors.
Previously, he was the president of The Guber-Peters Television
Company and discovered the story for Rain Man, which won the
Academy Award for Best Picture. Brooks is also an associate
professor at The American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film
Studies. He gave both Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Candy
their directorial debuts. He also produced the award winning
Behind the Mask starring Donald Sutherland. Last year, he was
awarded the prestigious Michael Landon Award from the
California Governor's Committee for the Handicapped for the
multiple movies he has done with and about the mentally and
physically disabled.
