| Associate Press AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - - Three-time world champion Alexei Yagudin of Russia on Thursday was added to the lineup for Sunday's Hershey's Kisses Figure Skating Challenge. Yagudin replaces another three-time world champion, Elvis Stojko of Canada, who withdrew with an injury. The competition will feature a Team USA vs. the World concept, with a series of head-to-head matchups in men's and women's events. One interpretive free skate will be performed, with two points awarded for first place and one point for second place. The team accumulating the most points will be the winner. Individual matchups will be determined just before the competition. Leading the U.S. team are three-time world champion Michelle Kwan; 1992 Olympic champion Kristi Yamaguchi; and the runner-up and third-place finishers at the 2000 U.S. nationals, Sasha Cohen and Sarah Hughes. The American men's team has five-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge; current U.S. champ Michael Weiss; and U.S. runner-up Timothy Goebel.
The World women's squad features Russians Maria Butyrskaya and
Irina Slutskaya; Surya Bonaly of France; and Yuka Sato of Japan.
For the men, it will be Yagudin, Kurt Browning and Brian Orser of
Canada.
