This is Kyoko and John's second year competing together. Kyoko and her former partner Jason Dungjen were two-time National Champions in '97 and '98 and finished 4th in the 1998 Olympics. John and former partner Stephanie Stiegler placed 3rd at the 1997 Nationals.
Kyoko and John gave what they described as the performance of their lives in the free skate to win their first National title.
