Gardnar Mulloy turns 100 years old
MIAMI -- Gardnar Mulloy, who helped the United States win the Davis Cup three times in the 1940s, is celebrating his 100th birthday.
Mulloy became the first International Tennis Hall of Fame inductee to reach the milestone Thursday.
He won the U.S. Championship doubles with Bill Talbert in 1942, 1945, 1946 and 1948. In 1957, a 43-year-old Mulloy became the oldest player to win the men's doubles at Wimbledon, where his partner was Budge Patty.
