UCI chief Brian Cookson promises independent commission in early 2014

MADRID -- Efforts to create an independent commission that will X-ray cycling's dirty past are coming closer to fruition.

New UCI president Brian Cookson told VeloNews that the three-member panel should be ready to begin its work in early 2014.

Working closely with the World Anti-Doping Agency, Cookson envisions a commission that will have a free hand to explore a variety of issues, including alleged wrongdoing within cycling's governing body as well as tricky questions of how to ...
