Wrist injury shelves De La Hoya
LOS ANGELES -- Oscar De La Hoya's WBC super welterweight title fight against challenger Roman Karmazin was called off Wednesday because of an injury to De La Hoya's left wrist.
The fight was scheduled for Dec. 8 at the Olympic Auditorium.
De La Hoya, who tore cartilage in his wrist while sparring in training camp at Big Bear, is scheduled for surgery Thursday.
