Rafael Nadal family quits Mallorca board

BARCELONA, Spain -- The family of Rafael Nadal is leaving the executive board of the Spanish soccer team Mallorca, citing a conflict of interest.

The Nadal family owns 10 percent of the financially troubled team and its board representative is Fernando Martos.

The tennis star's family said in a statement Monday that Martos was leaving because Miguel Angel Nadal, Rafael Nadal's uncle and a former soccer player for Spain, took over as caretaker coach last weekend. The Nadal family also ...
