Judy Murray to captain Britain

LONDON -- Andy Murray's mother has been appointed captain of Britain's Fed Cup team.

The Lawn Tennis Association said Thursday that Judy Murray will lead Britain in its Feb. 1-4 Europe-Africa Group I match against Israel in Eilat and mentor other female performance coaches.

Murray, who was the Scotland national coach for nine years, trained three-time Grand Slam finalist Andy Murray early in his career. She is a familiar figure at the No. 4-ranked player's matches -- regularly jumping ...
