A typically gritty final ended with Sporting KC beating Seattle to lift the Open Cup

The 99th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final wasn't the prettiest contest. Cup finals rarely are. But after all was said and done, it still looked beautiful to Sporting Kansas City, which defeated the Seattle Sounders 3-2 on penalties after extra time ended with the teams tied at 1-all to claim its second USOC title and first since 2004.
