No Preakness for Normandy Invasion

Rick Porter, owner of Normandy Invasion, said May 12 the Tapit colt will not compete in the upcoming Preakness Stakes in favor of a summer campaign instead.

"He's training well and eating well," Porter said of the fourth-place finisher in the Kentucky Derby. "Everything is fine with the horse. The two weeks is a little quick coming back. He needs to put some weight back on, so we decided to wait."

Porter said the Jim Dandy Stakes July 27 at Saratoga Race Course or the Haskell Invitational ...
