Stevens takes spill at Hollywood

Jockey Gary Stevens was off his two mounts June 2 after being unseated in a turf race a day earlier at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The 50-year-old Hall of Fame rider is scheduled to ride Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow in the Belmont Stakes June 8.

He was sore after taking a fall during the seventh race June 1. Two Blue Hens, the 9-5 favorite, ducked out on the first turn and dropped Stevens as they raced at the back of the pack in the one mile turf race for maiden fillies and mares. ...
