Chavez Jr. injury postpones L.A. card

Former middleweight titlist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. suffered a cut in sparring on Sunday forcing his super middleweight fight against Brian Vera next month to be postponed.

Chavez and Vera were due to meet Sept. 7 in an HBO-televised main event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
