8th triathlon death this season

A Las Vegas man died of unknown causes during the swim leg of the Pumpkinman Triathlon at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Nevada on Saturday morning, National Park Service and local authorities have confirmed.

Christie Vanover, public affairs officer for the recreation area, told ESPN.com that the man was spotted at 8:55 a.m. by a kayaker on the swim course, who summoned park rangers in a patrol boat. CPR was administered on the boat and the man was transported to the Boulder ...
