When PokerStars announced the signing of Isildur1 to their roster of Team PokerStars Pro, everyone quickly began to understand that despite his hidden identity, the online superstar had incredible potential. As expected, PokerStars made a huge deal of the signing and offered up the new "SuperStar Showdown" event where Isildur1 would compete heads-up against a player for 2,500 hands. The match is played with four tables of no-limit hold 'em and pot-limit Omaha being played simultaneously at levels starting at $50/$100.

Isildur1's first match came in mid-December against Issac Haxton and came up short against one of the most talented players in the game. Haxton took Isildur1 for $41,701 and made him even hungrier for when his second match came up against Tony Guoga (Tony G) on Sunday, January 2. This time around, Isildur1 beat the outspoken poker pro to the tune of $44,280 and left Guoga talking to himself saying in the chat box, "I have been humiliated … well done."

"He was better than me. He is also younger than me. Much younger," Tony G. said to the PokerStarsBlog. "He is a real talent, and I am just heart and hope."

Modest words for a man who is typically on the aggressive against his competitors. Isildur1 on the other hand told the PokerStars Blog that, "I think I played okay. It was a long, tough game."

However, the action isn't quite over just yet. Tony G posted on his blog today that he wants a rematch at Party Poker and he'll add $50,000 of his own money as a prize for the winner.

With an additional encounter with Tony G on his radar, Isildur1 goes to 1-1 in his SuperStar Showdown with his next match on PokerStars yet to be announced. His next opponent will be whoever wants to step up to the challenge and provided a player has the bankroll to do so, they can email showdown@pokerstars.com to apply.
