Sweden upset the United States 2-1 on Wednesday to win Group C. The USA falls to 15-1-2 all time in the group stage, finishing second in group play for the first time at a World Cup. Hope Solo's overall shutout streak ended at 796 minutes on Lisa Dahlkvist's penalty kick in the 16th minute. USA will play Group D winner Brazil, which cruised to a 3-0 win against Equatorial Guinea to finish undefeated in group play. Australia, needing only a tie to advance, defeated Norway 2-1 to finish second in Group D, advancing to the knockout stage for the second time in its history. Norway opened the scoring with an Elise Thorsnes goal in the 56th minute. Kyah Simon equalized for Australia within a minute, the first of her two goals. Here is a statistical review of the final day of play in Groups C and D.

•  Hope Solo conceded two goals for the first time since March 3, 2010, against Germany in the Algarve Cup. That also was the last time she conceded any goals for the United States. Lisa Dahlkvist's goal was the first penalty kick scored against the United States in regular play in the Women's World Cup.

•  This was the first time the USA lost a Women's World Cup match in which it scored (26-1-2). The USA is 1-4-0 when trailing at the half in games at the Women's World Cup.

•  Kyah Simon became the second Australian player to score two goals in a Women's World Cup match, joining teammate Lisa De Vanna, who accomplished the feat in 2007 against Ghana.

•  This was the first time Norway failed to make the knockout stage at the Women's World Cup, and the loss also eliminated it from participation in the 2012 Olympics. Kyah Simon's game-winning goal in the 87th minute was the second-latest goal Norway has allowed at a Women's World Cup.

•  Marta had 59 touches, her low for the tournament, but she completed four key passes (passes leading to a scoring opportunity), including an assist on Brazil's second goal.
