Salvador Cabanas doesn't remember
ASUNCION, Paraguay -- Paraguayan soccer player Salvador Cabanas has no memory of being shot in the head almost a year ago and is not expected to travel to Mexico to testify against a suspect.
Cabanas was shot at point-blank range in a Mexico City bar last Jan. 25. Jose Jorge Balderas Garza is a suspect who was arrested Tuesday by Mexican authorities.
Balderas Garza has told police he believes Cabanas can remember what happened but is not talking. Cabanas' lawyer Oscar Latorre said Wednesday his client has no recollection of being shot.
Cabanas starred for the Mexican club America and Paraguay's national team.
