MILAN -- Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale says he may retire at the end of the season following the death of former teammate Piermario Morosini while playing for Livorno on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Morosini, who was on loan from Serie A side Udinese, collapsed and died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Serie B match at Pescara.
On Monday, Di Natale said too much soccer is played in Italy and that "last year I thought about retiring. ... I'll play these last six games for Mario and then we'll see."
Di Natale is 34. The Italy striker has finished as top scorer in Serie A for the past two seasons. He is currently tied for second with 20, three fewer than AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
