2 Jozy Altidore goals lift AZ Alkmaar
AMSTERDAM -- Jozy Altidore scored twice in a three-minute span early in the second half, helping AZ Alkmaar to a 2-2 tie at Ajax in their Dutch league opener Sunday.
The 22-year-old American, who led the team with 15 league goals and 19 overall last season, tied the score in the 48th minute when he went past defenders Gregory van der Wiel and Toby Alderweireld, then beat goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer. Altidore put AZ ahead in the 50th with a shot into the roof of the net after trading passes with Maarten Martens.
Van der Wiel had put Ajax ahead in the ninth, and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson tied it with a bicycle kick in the 83rd.
In other matches, defending champion Twente beat Groningen 4-1 and Feyenoord won 1-0 at Utrecht.
MUNICH -- Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the German Super Cup, ending a run of five consecutive losses to the defending league and cup champion since Feb. 13, 2010.
Robert Lewandowski scored for Dortmund in the 75th.
PARIS -- Midfielder Benoit Cheyrou scored on a volley in the 77th minute, and Marseille opened its French league season with a 1-0 win at newly-promoted Reims.
Reims, runner-up to Real Madrid in the Champion Clubs Cup in 1956 and 1959, returned to the first division for the first time since the 1978-79 season.
