Amy Rodriguez

Amy Rodriguez scored one of the biggest goals of her career in 2010, a game-winning goal in the second leg of the United States' World Cup qualifying playoff vs. Italy to clinch the final spot in the 2011 World Cup for the U.S. She earned her first full national team cap in 2005, but didn't score her first goal until 2008 vs. Canada. She started five games for the United States in the 2008 Olympics and assisted on Carli Lloyd's game-winning goal in the U.S.' 1-0 win over Brazil in the gold medal game.

Rodriguez was taken with the first overall pick in the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer draft by the Boston Breakers but struggled mightily in her rookie season. She started just 11 games for Boston, notching just one goal and one assist. She also struggled on the international side in 2009, tallying one assist. She was traded to the Philadelphia Independence after the 2009 season, and had a bounce back year -- finishing as a finalist for league player of the year honors. She scored 12 goals and six assists for her club team in 2010. In the WPS Super Semifinal, she scored seconds before penalty kicks to send her team to the final. She also scored 7 goals internationally in 2010.

A starter at forward for the U.S. at the 2011 World Cup, Rodriguez did not score in five games played for her team at the tournament. But, upon returning to the WPS, she found the net in important games for the Independence, tallying in two playoff games. Her 87th-minute goal in the 2011 WPS final forced extra time, but Philadelphia lost the title on penalty kicks to the Western New York Flash.

Rodriguez finished her college career with 31 goals and 17 assists for USC, good enough for fourth all-time. Her hometown is Lake Forest, California.
