Ankle injury might sideline Nalbandian

MINSK, Belarus -- David Nalbandian might not be able to play
for Argentina in this week's Davis Cup quarterfinal against Belarus
because of an ankle injury.

"Nalbandian still has not recovered. His participation in the
match against Belarus is in great question," Argentina captain
Gustavo Luza said Sunday.

Nalbandian has not played since he injured his ankle in the
Davis Cup first round in February, when he helped Argentina beat
Morocco 5-0. He has a 6-1 record in the Davis Cup.

Luza did not say who would replace Nalbandian if he is unable to
play, but Juan Monaco and Juan del Potro, who were not selected to
the team last week, arrived in Minsk with Luza.

Agustin Calleri and Lucas Arnold also arrived. The fourth team
member, Guillermo Coria, was playing Sunday in the final of the
Nasdaq-100 Open.

"I consider our chances for success 50-50," Luza said. "The
Belarus team is very strong, especially when they play at home."

Belarus' team consists of Max Mirnyi, Vladimir Voltchkov,
Alexander Shvec and Andrei Karatchenia.
