Top-seeded Jankovic reaches sixth final of season

DEN BOSCH, Netherlands -- Second-seeded Ivan Ljubicic
reached the final of the Ordina Open grass-court tournament Friday,
beating Julien Benneteau of France 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-4.

In the women's event, top-seeded Jelena Jankovic advanced to her
sixth final of the season by beating Dinara Safina of Russia 6-3,
3-6, 7-6 (6). The Serb will play third-seeded Anna Chakvetadze of
Russia, who beat Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 6-3, 6-4.

Ljubicic has the chance to make it three straight wins for
Croatia at the Wimbledon warmup tournament. Mario Ancic won the
past two Ordina Open titles.

"This is a great feeling," Ljubicic said. "The last final I
played was in Rotterdam -- I think the Netherlands brings me luck."

In February, Mikhail Youzhny of Russia beat Ljubicic in the
final of the ABN Amro tournament in Rotterdam.

The other semifinal between Peter Wessels and Antony Dupuis will
be completed Saturday.

Wessels was leading 6-5 in the first set when rain forced the
players off court. Both players broke once before the interruption.

Jankovic squandered five match points in the final set before
finally closing out victory in the tiebreaker.

"She was the better player today, for sure," Jankovic said.
"My fighting spirit really helped me to win this match."

Dupuis reeled off three straight games Friday to complete a 7-6
(2), 6-3 quarterfinal victory over Benjamin Becker of Germany.
Their match was suspended Thursday at 3-3 in the second set.
