BRUSSELS -- U.S. Open semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer will be questioned by a local anti-doping committee for allegedly failing to report her whereabouts to anti-doping investigators three times over the past 18 months, her spokesman said Thursday.
"Yanina will indeed have to appear. It is all based on a misunderstanding," Wickmayer spokesman Rudi Kuyl said in a telephone interview.
"She did not miss a doping control," Kuyl said, but he conceded Wickmayer may not have fulfilled all the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency's requirement that she let them know her whereabouts at all times for out-of-competition testing.
Kuyl said she will be questioned on Oct 22.
