Vote: Who starts for the United States?

Shakespeare told us that all the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players. But not until the World Baseball Classic have the world's best players been able to gather and perform on the same stage. But before we get to arguing about the merits of each team, we need SportsNation's help filling out the lineup.

United States: As was the case in basketball before the 1992 Olympics, the United States is hardly a dominant power in international baseball. The birthplace of the sport missed out on the 2004 Olympics in Athens, embarrassingly crashing out in the qualifying round. But will a professional "D-word" team be enough to restore our national baseball pride? Unlike the NBA in 1992, MLB is an internationally diverse affair. So who gets the nod for this tough task?
