As we get closer to the "Showdown" - "Ferocious" Fernando Vargas vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley fight on Saturday, Feb. 25, we'll bring you Mosley in to chat about the fight on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas will host the Vargas-Mosley fight, which will be live on HBO PPV starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Main Events and Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions are handling the promotions of the fight. On the undercard is Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson and Calvin Brock vs. Zuri Lawrence.
The 34-year-old Mosley enters the fight with a record of 41-4, with 35 knockouts. Vargas enters with a record of 27-2 and 23 KOs. Mosley won both of his fights in 2005, defeating Jose Luis Cruz and David Estrada. Mosley was a 1992 Olympic team member and turned pro in 1993, winning seven fights in the year, all by knockout. At different times in his career, Mosley has held the IBF Lightweight, WBC Welterweight, WBA Jr. Middleweight and WBC Jr. Middleweight titles.
