Bay, a native of Trail, British Columbia, is on Canada's 30-man roster for the World Baseball Classic along with pitchers Erik Bedard (Baltimore Orioles) and Jeff Francis (Colorado Rockies), Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Corey Koskie, and San Diego Padres catcher Pete Laforest.
Canada is in Group B of the world tournament, playing against the United States, Mexico and South Africa, and is slated to play its first-round games from March 7-10 at Arizona's Chase Field and Scottsdale Stadium.
