Although Baghdatis lost to world No. 1 Roger Federer in the final in Melbourne, he has reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of 27. He is 8-4 in singles play this season and 21-18 in his young career.
In addition to his smashing success in Australia, the 20-year-old native of Cyprus also reached the quarterfinals at Doha in singles and the semifinals in doubles there.
