Ancic reached the quarterfinals of the NASDAQ-100 Open earlier today with a win over World No. 5 Nikolay Davydenko, his sixth career win against a Top 10 player, and it pushed him into his first career ATP Masters Series quarterfinal. He will play either Radek Stepanek or David Nalbandian for a spot in the semifinals on Wednesday.
The Croatian-born Ancic led his country to its first-ever Davis Cup title last year. In 2006, Ancic has reached a pair of ATP finals, finishing as the runner-up in Auckland and Marseille.
